Young Climbers (u 18)

Parents are required to fill in a consent form for their child before they can take part in climbing activities at Aber Rocks.

The following are the options for young people wishing to climb at Aber Rocks:

Age 7 – 13 years

  • The child can attend with a parent or another competent adult who is willing to take full supervisory responsibility for them for the duration of their climb.  There is no need to book in advance and the session can last as long as the adult/child wishes.  Cost £5 members/ £6.50 non members
  • The child can take part in our weekly kids club, a fun 90 minute session which is supervised by one of our qualified staff so parents don’t need to.  Booking is essential as there are only limited places.  See Kids club page for more information.  Cost £7 members/ £10 non members


Age 14 – 17 years

  • If they have little or no experience, they can attend with a parent or another competent adult who can supervise them whilst they climb.  There is no need to book in advance and the session can last as long as the child wishes to climb.  Cost £5 members/ £6.50 non members
  • If they have little or no experience, they can book an introductory course where an instructor will take them through the climbing etiquette and safety aspects of climbing. Cost £15 taster/ £20 induction including annual membership. Thereafter, with the consent of their parents, they can register for unsupervised climbing at Aber Rocks and attend without booking ahead. Cost £5 members/ £6.50 non members
  • If they have experience of climbing elsewhere and pass our competency assessment, they can register for unsupervised climbing at Aber Rocks with the consent of their parents.  Cost £5 members/ £6.50 non members

NOTE: Parents must attend Aber Rocks on the first occasion to sign and give consent in the presence of a member of staff.
